Inscription. In the wood-framed portion of this building, Charles Stowe, who arrived in Mount Dora in 1884, operated a general store until the Great Freeze of 1894-95, when he became discouraged and sold it to his employee, Russell True. It changed hands many times until the 1920s, when a masonry addition was added to the front of the building. Al Rehbaum and Fletcher Crane opened Rehbaum and Crane Furniture store and operated that establishment for 35 years. It was renamed Doris' Furniture for Doris Parker Morse.
