1. Oakley House Marker

Inscription. Built in the Stick style of architecture by Abraham Oakley, this home is one of Ontario's finest examples of a Victorian Era citrus farmhouse. The home was occupied by the Oakley family, including Herbert Oakley, a prominent real estate developer, into the 1900s. Despite a 1930s alteration of the front porch, the home's overall integrity of design, workmanship and setting has been retained. In 2009, a major restoration project removed inappropriate additions, restored period features and reconstructed the original widow's walk and porch gable end with a sunburst design, restoring the home to its original Victorian grandeur.
