The first bank to be established in Gladstone was in the Hotel Delta located at the corner of 6th street and Delta Ave. The year was 1887 and it was called the Marble & Foss Bank. By 1890 the name was changed to The Exchange Bank of Gladstone.

When the D. Hammel and Sons Bank failed in 1912, The Exchange Bank relocated to 810 Delta and became known as The Gladstone State Savings Bank.

The new bank was built in 1971 and located on 10th Street. The name was changed to Bay Bank on 2/13/1989 and is known as "Gladstone's Hometown Bank."
