Inscription.
The Reward Mine is made up of multiple mining claims that have merged over time. Following its discovery in 1870 the Reward Mine primarily produced gold and silver, with copper and lead being secondary minerals. The Reward Mine sat adjacent to the Brown Monster Mine, each working vein named after their respective operations and adding tunnels over the years, with the largest production occurring from 1911 until 1952. The Reward Mine was set around a vein about 150' to 300' long and 6' thick with gold and lead, while the Brown Monster Mine operations worked a 150' to 200' long vein ranging between 4' to 12' thick. In 1948 the mine owner, T.L. Bright who as a "bright man" reported daily production of 10 tons, with ore reported daily production of 10 tons, with ore reportedly assaying at $100 to $150 per ton. It is unspecified to the number of openings and shafts although a certain topo map reflects about 26 adits, 3 shafts and 5 prospects. Today this mine is enjoyed by 4 wheel drive enthusiasts from around the globe. Due to Covid-19 this plaque was dedicated on a later date.
