Inscription. In 1879, developer F.C. Finney built a modest Second French Empire style house in the Oklahoma addition, a mile south of Rockport. Local merchant Leopold M. Bracht (1857-1942) and his wife, Clara (Friday) (1870-1955), purchased the home in 1887. Around 1899, the Brachts moved the house to its present site and then enlarged it significantly adding wraparound porches, centralized gables and a turret. The Brachts sold the home in 1946 to Roy and Bonnie Jean Hinton. The house, which has withstood powerful hurricanes, remains an excellent local example of Queen Anne style architecture.
