The fire protection district covers Norwood Park Township, an island completely surrounded by the City of Chicago that includes the villages of Norridge and Harwood Heights as well as some small sections of unincorporated Cook County. The township shares a name with the Chicago neighborhood just north of here, which receives all of its services from the city.
Regarding 91101. The memorial was unveiled two weeks before the 15th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. According to news reports, it was one of the last pieces of World Trade Center steel distributed for a memorial by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
