the statue was dedicated in West Haven on August 6, 2000. The statue overlooks Long Island Sound from its position in Old Grove Park. The statue represents all of the men and women of the sea services. And it pays tribute to West Haven's long seafaring history. The statue was donated by West Haven residents and Navy veteran, Marty DeGrand.
