1. The Old Bank Marker
Inscription.
This Neoclassical-style building at 138 S. Main St. was constructed with Southern Indiana Limestone in 1922. People's State Bank operated at this location from 1922 until several years into the Great Depression, closing in 1937.

Although the exterior has largely remained unchanged since it was built, the interior has seen numerous businesses. To this day, the building still has many of the bank's characteristics, including the marblework, teller windows and the vault area and door. Although the building has not housed a bank for almost 85 years, it is still referred to by the name on its facade.

This historic site is a stop on the City of Crown Point and Crown Point Community Library's Historic Walking Tour, launched in 2023. Read more about the Old Bank and the tour by scanning the QR Code or visiting www.crownpoint.in.gov.
