1. Metz Bros. Brewing Co. Marker
Inscription. Built by Omaha's Metz Bros. Brewing in 1904, this building served as a saloon in the early part of the 20th century. Over the years, many business have occupied the space, including a drug store, meat market, cabinet builder, the American Legion, an art gallery, and a motorcycle shop. In the 1950s. it was the Kay (rhymes with "hi") Apple House, and some locals still refer to the building as the "Apple House." Many area residents grew up working here, and some claim they met their spouse while packing apples. Current owners have beautifully restored the building to preserve the history of Metz Beer.
