Excerpt: "Our location was constructed in 1858, prior to the Civil War. It was built as a hotel and named Babcock's Grove House (Lombard and Glen Ellyn were both known as Babcock's Grove at the time). It's rumored that the hotel was built to accommodate the Republican National Convention of 1860. Babcock's Grove House was later renamed The Lombard Hotel."(Submitted on November 26, 2025, by Sean P.
