Fray Matías de Irala Yuso (Madrid, 1680-1753) was a Minim friar, painter, and Spanish engraver. Baroque by training and tradition, close in decoration to the exuberant architectural portals of Pedro de Ribera or José Benito de Churriguera, who provided him with the drawing for an emblematic Hispanic Hercules in a rich cartouche of vegetal branches, he was also one of the introducers in Spain of the Rococo taste associated with the new Bourbon dynasty through his copying and imitation in printmaking of foreign models.(Submitted on November 29, 2025.)
