1. Strawbridge Home for Boys Marker

Inscription. The entrance for the Strawbridge Home for Boys was located near here when it opened on December 16, 1924. Named after Robert Strawbridge, the first Methodist minister in the United States, the home cared for over 300 boys. It was one of three homes established by the Baltimore Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Strawbridge closed in 1960 and became the Board of Child Care, located near Baltimore.
