Le 1er août 1944, la 2ᵉ Division Blindée (2ᵉ DB) du Général Leclerc débarque à Saint-Martin-de-Varreville, secteur Utah Beach. La colonne de blindés traverse le village de Sainte-Mère-Église, chaleureusement accueillie par les habitants.

English:
August 1st, 1944, the 2nd Armored Division of General Leclerc landed in Saint-Martin-de Varreville, Utah Beach sector. Armored vehicles passed through Sainte-Mère-Eglise, warmly welcomed by inhabitants.
