1. Bank of New Zealand Marker
Inscription. A branch of the Bank of New Zealand was first opened in Arrowtown on 1st October 1867, Mr. H. H. Holmden being the first manager. The building on this site in which the bank first conducted its business was replaced by the present stone building, erected in 1875 and added to in 1905. The bank's branch was closed on 21st November 1916, but since that time the bank has conducted an agency in Arrowtown. These premises were transferred by the bank to the Lake District Centennial Museum incorporated by deed of gift in July 1953.
