1. Reliaquest Bowl Marker
Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier guided LSU on a 98-yard TD drive late the fourth quarter as the Tigers overcame a 14-point deficit to beat Wisconsin, 35-31, in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa. The victory secured LSU's second straight 10-win season under head coach Brian Kelly. Nussmeier, the MVP of the game, threw for 395 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner to Brian Thomas with 3:08 left in the contest. The game-winning touchdown was LSU's only lead of the game. Thomas caught TD passes of 38 and 4 yards in the second half as the Tigers erased a 28-14 third quarter deficit. Thomas's first TD pulled the Tigers to within 28-21 before tying the contest at 28-28 on a 14-yard Nussmeier pass to Chris Hilton. All-America receiver Malik Nabers capped his career as LSU's all-time leader in receptions (189) and receiving yards (3,003).
