3. Founders' Rock
On 16 April 1860, the trustees of the College of California met at the location of Founders Rock to dedicate their new campus. A plaque monumented on the highest boulder reads:

Inscribed May 9, 1896
The plaque was monumented by the UC Berkeley Class of 1896 to commemorate the dedication of the campus.
