1. Alumni Association Marker
Inscription.
Alumni Association. . While there is evidence that an organization of former students existed previously during academy, high school, and normal college days, few records were kept until 1922 when an organization was formed with Aaron Tracy serving as college president and also president of the Alumni Association. In 1925, the organization was legally incorporated with John Q. Blaylock as President; Harvey L Taylor and Bertha Eccles Wright, Vice Presidents; Erma Galbraith, Secretary; Lucille Parry, Treasurer; Donnell B. Stewart, Student Body President; and College President, Aaron W. Tracy as directors. The association disbanded in 1935 but a re-organization followed a few years later which has continued to the present. While space does not allow a complete listing of the many faithful alumni who have served the association over the years, the names of past presidents since 1939-40 are inscribed in representative tribute to all who have served in any capacity. , , Alumni Presidents 1939-1989 , A.
