In May 1957, the monument was erected in the park at the corner of Provincialeweg and Zeeweg. The bronze plaque was added in 1984. It is the third monument commemorating the retaliations that took place at the end of the occupation during World War II. The first monument consisted of wooden crosses erected by resistance members after the liberation at the sites of two executions. In May 1946, a temporary stone monument was erected a little further away.(Submitted on January 5, 2026.)
