1. M114 Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle Marker

Inscription. In the years immediately following the Second World War, army planners believed that mechanized forces should have a vehicle specialized to each of their branch missions. For the cavalry, a small, maneuverable, amphibious scout vehicle would empower reconnaissance teams to hold positions longer, increase maneuver options, and improve cross country mobility. The M114 was equipped with an "off the shelf" 160 horsepower Chevrolet 283-V8 gas engine.
