1. M4A1 Sherman Medium Tank Marker

Inscription. At the time of its construction, the M4A1 featured the largest armor tank hull-casting in the world. This characteristic radically sped up tank construction time in comparison to riveting methods used previously. American Industry turned its might to the mass production of war materials and made the Sherman tank family the biggest in US tank history. This Sherman was equipped with a US Navy Mk I flamethrower projector tube fitted inside a worn-out 75 millimeter barrel. Notice the air holes under the barrel at the muzzle end. Bullet scars located predominately on the rear lower hull and running gear are believed to be the result of combat during the Second World War.
