1. M75 Armored Personnel Carrier Marker

Inscription. The US Army needed a modern armored personnel carrier (APC) to replace the M3 Halftrack which dated back to the 1930s. Development of the M75 began in September of 1946 as the T18. Adopted in 1952 as the M75, It was the first armored troop carrier to be fully enclosed. This enclosure protected the troops from air burst artillery that could explode above their vehicles. This vehicle saw its first combat action during the Korean War.
