1. Lafayette's Tour Marker
Inscription. On November 20, 1824, General Lafayette was welcomed here at the Town Hall and conducted to Farmer's Hotel where a ball was held in his honor.

Marker is at right. The Fredericksburg Area Museum, occupying the building behind it, stands in the 1816 Town Hall & Market House - the very building Lafayette visited on his arrival.
