St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church
The Catholic Mission Church was built at Castle Gate, Utah in 1898. It burned down in 1907. Catholics then worshipped in Helper at the Railroad Non-Denominational Chapel which was erected by the railroad in 1899.
On this location in 1914 the St. Anthony of Padua Church was built and used until destroyed by fire in 1936. The church was relocated to Main Street which is still in use.
The Helper area Greek Orthodox services were held in the Helper YMCA nearby. Price and Helper area church members held a vote to determine a location to build a church and Price was chosen for the location of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church which was erected in 1916.
In 1895 a Latter-day Saints Mormon church house was built in Castle Gate. The first Latter-day Saints Ward house was built in Helper in 1940. Several of the area coal camps had LDS chapels.
Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist and Buddhist worshipped in the railroad chapel, homes, the YMCA and area coal camps where they could.
