Our Mission
You are standing in "The Maywood Peace Garden." This garden is primarily a flower garden created in 2009 by a group of neighborhood youth with the support of the Maywood Youth Mentoring Program-which occupied an office at 840 S. 17th at that time.

The purpose of the garden is to show respect for our community by creating a peaceful space for the community to enjoy.

Since its beginning, the garden has taken on many flower arrangements, and has been a "labor of love" by many community youth and volunteer supporters.

A special thanks to Mr. David Scott - People's Cab (lot owner) who allows us to maintain our garden here!

We continually welcome Irving School students to participate to show community respect by helping to keep it clean while enjoying the art of gardening.
