The circa 1830 building on this site was removed in 2019. based on study of that building, the new street wall to your left approximates the faηade of the hattery as it may have appeared before the Updegraffs added a third floor around 1860.
William Updegraff built the Eastlake-style building behind you in 1882 to expand their very successful venture into producing gloves. The first floor was a store. The factory was upstairs. Businesses continued until William's sons sold the property in 1931
