Oak Park in Cook County, Illinois — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
Aging Well in Oak Park
Inscription.
Thank you for visiting this exhibit that is called "Aging Well in Oak Park."
These photographs were taken by Oak Park residents to celebrate older members of the Oak Park community. They also are part of the Brookdale Oak Park collection of pictures.
The exhibition is curated and brought to Oak Park by members of the Action Community Engagement (ACE) Project (Principal Investigators Dr. Becca Levy and Dr. Monika Robinson, Community Leads Marc Blesoff and Pamela Mahn, and Project Managers Julie Bach and Linda Francis) as a way celebrate and recognize the many contributions of older persons to our community.
We thank Oak Park Township Senior Services and Wise Cup for sharing their public spaces for this exhibit.
We would also like to thank the Brookdale Oak Park and ACE group members for assisting with the collection of the pictures and Pamela Jean Tinnen for her help with the exhibition design. ACE is made possible by a grant from the Smith Tieken Foundation.
Please also visit the complementary ACE project, the wonderful anti ageism public art exhibit in the windows of the Oak Park Arts District that will be displayed until the end of January.
Erected 2025 by Action Community Engagement (ACE).
