1. Lakeview High School Marker
Inscription.
Formerly known as New Brookland School, Lakeview began as a three-room building with one teacher educating African-American students in grades one through six.

By 1937 New Brookland School was rebuilt and renamed Lakeview High School because of its location overlooking the horseshoe pond educating students in grades one through eleven, Lakeview's first graduation class had four graduates.

LAekview educated thousands of African Americans who continue the Lakeview legacy of determination residency and excellence in all endeavors.
