For decades, Brother André served as the doorkeeper for the congregation of the Holy Cross in Montreal, Quebec. This humble man welcomed all and prayed with the sick and suffering.
He is credited with many miraculous healings.
Brother André is the founder of St. Joseph's Oratory in Montreal. Over a million faithful came to pay their respects upon his death in 1937. On October 17, 2010, André was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI.
This interactive bronze statue of St. André was created by sculptor Timothy Schmalz and donated to St. Mary Help of Christians by Peggy and Jack DeVine.
