Inscription.
The F-15 Eagle was developed as an air-to-air fighter with excellent maneuverability and a top speed greater than 2.5 times the speed of sound. This F-15B, designated TAC-1, was accepted by President Gerald Ford at Luke AFB on 14 November 1974 as the first to enter the Air Force inventory. The 426th, 461st, 550th and 555th Tactical Fighter Training Squadrons produced 3.303 graduates from F-15A/B training during the period November 1974 - September 1991.
