1. North American AT-6 Texan Marker

Inscription. The AT-6 Texan was the primary advanced trainer for the Army Air Force In World War II. The AT-6 comprised 26 percent of the training aircraft produced from 1940 until VJ Day: More than 85 percent of the pilots who trained at Luke Field in the World War II era earned their wings in the AT-6. The Texan had a 550 horsepower Pratt & Whitney Wasp engine and a top speed of 205 miles per hour. Redesignated the T-6 after the war, it also served in a Luke support role from 1951-1956.
