1. Southern Railway Pullman "Bizet" Marker
This passenger car was built and originally owned by the Pullman Company, which operated its own fleet of sleeping cars under contract with many railroads. The railroads sold the tickets to ride and pulled the cars, but the sleepers were actually operated and staffed by the pullman company. From the late 19th century to the mid 1940's, the Pullman Company was the primary operator of sleeping cars in the United States.
