1. New World War II plaque revealed at Palm Beach veterans celebration (Palm Beach Daily News). During a veterans celebration Tuesday, the town unveiled a new bronze plaque to honor veterans who served during World War II. The previous aluminum plaque, dedicated in 1985, was deteriorating. The Rotary Club of Palm Beach began planning the restoration of the World War II Memorial six years ago but the Town Square renovation delayed the project.
