1. Monticello Marker
Inscription. Named for President Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson County is home to the Monticello courthouse and opera house. Monticello's 1909 courthouse remains Florida's last historic courthouse square model still in active use. Surrounded by antebellum homes, live oaks, and a walkable downtown, Monticello preserves Old Florida charm. Local festivals bring history into the streets, celebrating the area's rural roots.
