1. John Mull's And the Road Kill Grill Marker
John and Lois Mull moved to Las Vegas in 1936 from Pennsylvania. John was a carpenter and initially worked in construction, before becoming a butcher in the 1940s. In the early 1950s he acquired this property and in 1953 he started his first meat store and slaughterhouse on this site. Mull's products were well liked and many of his meats were from his own ranch in Utah. John Mull's Meats and Deer Processing, as the business was named, became known to local hunters as the place to bring your deer for processing. Two buildings on site date from 1953, and are designated City of Las Vegas Historic Structures. Known today as John Mull's Meats and The Road Kill Grill, the business has stayed in the same family for three generations. The Road Kill Grill was added after Guy Fieri's “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” television show filmed at the site, spotlighting the catering business which had been added. While it doesn't slaughter meat on site any longer, it still processes wild game for hunters and remains a classic Vegas Valley business providing family service which holds deep ties to our heritage.
