1. Gerberich-Payne Shoe Company Marker
Inscription. The Gerberich-Payne Shoe Company originally erected a 4-story factory and later added an addition in 1925. At the height of their sales, they were producing 2,000 pairs of shoes a day. They were honored to be chosen to manufactured the official boy scout shoe from 1938-1951 and resumed again in 1971. The factory closed in 1974. Recently it was renovated into a Senior Housing facility.
