Half of all vulture species are threatened with extinction.

Vultures slow the spread of disease by eating dead animals before they decompose. Their role in nature is vital, but people often think of them with scorn instead of gratitude.

Since the 1990s, vulture populations have declined sharply. Learning to appreciate them is the first step to ensuring their survival.
