1. Treasures Rescued, Build Ransacked Marker

Inscription.
The estate closed the Hotel on very short notice on August 31, 2022, after city code inspections implied that it should be shut down and to prepare for demolition. In October, the estate granted access to the City by the Sea Museum to rescue items of historical value. They saved significant photos, artwork, a few furnishings, and documents. But the remaining contents which were about to be destroyed started to disappear from the site. The demolition team hauled trailer-loads of items away. Everything was upended including boxes and boxes of documents.
