1. The Beauty of Buzzard Point Marker
Inscription.
Buzzard Point stakeholders began seeking this local commission at the beginning of 2020 to create a vibrant and welcoming presence for residents and visitors in Buzzard Point and contribute to a future dynamic neighborhood. The commission process was preceded by a community conversation with neighbors and civic leaders in fall of 2019 to seek feedback on themes for mural designs. Community goals for this initiative included activating the safety structure with iconic largescale public art, creating a vibrant gateway element for the area that serves as a thoroughfare into the residential community of Buzzard Point, and promoting walkability in the neighbhorhood with an engaging space.

Erected by Rose Jaffe & Kaliq Crosby, muralists; in partnership with Capitol Riverfront, Pepco, DC United, Akridge, Donohoe, Western Development Corporation, Douglas Development Corporation, ORR Partners, FRP, Steuart Investment Company, MRP Realty.
