Inscription.
The University Club was constructed in 1921 as the clubhouse for the Racquet Club of Washington which merged with the University Club in 1936. The Classical Revival-style building was designed in 1920 by renowned architect Jules Henri de Sibour for prominent local developer Harry Wardman.
 
Erected 2025 by University Club Historic Preservation Foundation.
