The Manila Cathedral-Basilica was re-opened on 09 April 2014 after almost two years of being closed to the public on 12 February 2012 to give way for the structural retrofitting, engineering enhancements and architectural restoration.
The Restoration Project was spearheaded by the Manila Metropolitan Cathedral-Basilica Foundation, Inc. and undertaken by the Project Management Team.
