1. Logan and Kane Marker

Inscription. Norwegians were the second largest ethnic group in the city. They were attracted to North La Crosse by the lumber industry along the Black River. Norwegians formed a community between Sill and Logan Streets where Norwegian Methodist, Norwegian Baptist, and Norwegian Lutheran churches served as social and cultural centers.

Erected 1999 by the City of La Crosse, the City's Historic Preservation Commission and the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. (Marker Number 4.)
