1. Logan and Caledonia Marker
Inscription. The Village of North La Crosse, separated from La Crosse by a marsh, grew up around the sawmills established on the banks of the Black River in the early 1850's. An intense political struggle led to the annexation of the village to the city in 1871.
 
Erected 1999 by the City of La Crosse, the City's Historic Preservation Commission and the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. (Marker Number 5.)
