English Translation:
The oldest reference to school instruction in Schnaittach dates from 1487, when a first schoolmaster is also mentioned.

The first reference to a school building dates from 1755. It is reported that a new schoolhouse was built in front of the church to replace an older one that had been demolished. In 1865 the growing number of pupils required the construction of a second schoolhouse, which was built directly next to the old one. From then on the town had three teaching positions, which increased to six by 1902. In 1905 a new school building was constructed on Erlanger Street with six classrooms, a teachers’ room, and a caretaker’s apartment. In 1933 it was expanded by two rooms, and in 1962 a second building with seven classrooms was added.

In 1972 the primary school and secondary school were separated. The primary school remained in the old elementary school building, while a new building for the secondary school was constructed on Simonshofer Street (called a middle school since 2011).
