1. Lincoln Steps Marker
Inscription.

Steps salvaged from the Planters Hotel, located on the north side of Shawnee Street between Levee and Main (Esplanade), in the late 1950s. Abraham Lincoln was registered at the Planters during his historic visit to Leavenworth in early December 1859. In seeking the Republican nomination for President of the U.S., he gave two political speeches at Stockton Hall, 4th and Delaware.
