This plaque was unveiled by Colin Cowdrey, President, on 1st. June 1987 to mark the bi-centenary of the first match played at Dorset Fields

THOMAS LORD laid out his original CRICKET GROUND on this site in 1787. The M.C.C. was founded here in the same year.
