Aurora in York Region, Ontario — Central Canada (North America)
A Look Outside Hillary House
Popular throughout the western world by the mid 1800s, Gothic Revival architecture incorporated romanticized medieval elements that were both eclectic and ornate. This architectural style was a reaction to the rapid modernization that occurred with the Industrial Revolution and fit with the Victorians' love of whimsy and decoration.
Situated on 2.4 acres of land in the heart of Aurora, Hillary House is owned and operated by the Aurora Historical Society and serves as a museum and centre for heritage education.
Erected by Aurora Historical Society.
