1. Shella Building Marker

Inscription. Edmund Shella founded Home Light & Power Co. in 1917 and brought the first electricity to Jasper and Ihlen, Mn.

In 1959, Home Light & Power Co. became a family Corporation with Edmund Shella and his sons, John and Hall. The sons operated Home Light and Power Co. until it was purchased by Northern States Power Co. June 20, 1986. Northern States Power Co. donated the Home Light & Power Co. Office Building to the City of Jasper to be used as their Municipal Offices.

Edmund Shella died in 1975 at the age of 90.
