English Translation:
In October 1414, Jan Hus stayed here overnight with about 30 companions. Jan Hus (born 1371 in Husinec, Bohemia). He was on his way to the Council of Constance. There he became the first martyr of the Church Reformation, which only achieved success 100 years later through Martin Luther.

Jan Hus (around 1370-1415), a Prague scholar of theology, initially a Master and later Chancellor of the University of Prague, is the most famous initiator and advocate of the Bohemian reform movement of the late 15th century.

His death at the stake in Constance on July 6, 1415, heralded the Hussite Revolution and the Hussite Wars, which were only finally ended in 1436 with the Treaty of Jihlava after terrible devastation of the Landshut region.
