1. Rhodhiss Elementary School Marker

Inscription. First site of Rhodhiss Elementary School. Established in 1900 for the children of mill workers. Relocated in 1938 across the street with a brick building, built by the WPA. Original was converted to a church and was destroyed by fire in 1942. The Methodist Church was built on the original site in 1944. The brick Rhodhiss Elementary School was closed in 1982 and burned in 1992.
