The Iraq War 2003 - 2011 The Iraq War began with an invasion of Iraq in 2003 by a multi-national invasion force led by the United States. An insurgency emerged to oppose the ocupying forces and the newly formed Iraqi government. After nine years of war, the U.S. completed its withdrawal of military personnel in December 2011.

The Persian Gulf War
1990 In 1990, Saddam Hussein ordered the invasion of neighboring Kuwait and the Persian Gulf War began with a massive air offensive known as Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

After 42 days of relentless attacks by the U.S. and allied forces, U.S. President George H.W. Bush declared a cease-fire. By that time, most Iraqi forces in Kuwait had either surrendered or fled. Though the Gulf War was initially considered an unqualified success for the U.S. and international coalition, simmering conflict in Iraq led to a second Gulf War known as the Iraq War-in 2003.

over all Muslims and wishes to rule many countries, including: Cyprus, Jordan, Kuwait, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria. The group is responsible for brutal violence.

In June 2014, ISIS started an offensive in the northern area of Iraq. Many mercenaries joined ISIS. The group created by al-Baghdadi has a great appeal among young foreigners, especially Western youngsters who have converted to Jihad.

The U.S. conducted air strikes in Syria against the militant group in what is expected to be a lengthy campaign. Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates "participated in or supported the strikes with the United States.

As of December 4, 2014, three U.S. servicemen died in "non-combat" incidents while participating in operations aqainst ISIS.
